20180618 Falmouth (rest day)

Activities

And again a rest day. This time I do not have to do the laundry myself, they have a laundry service at the hotel 🙂

After breakfast I walk into the village. I’ve already seen a few things here yesterday. I do not know what I’m going to do yet. First I go to the Prince of Wales Pier to find out how it is with the ferry that I have to take almost immediately tomorrow morning.
At the pier also a boat leaves for Helford River for a 2 hour ‘cruise’. I think it’s too early for that, maybe I’ll go in the afternoon.

I wander further through the village and especially along the quays to watch boats. There are also some really big boats… I also go inside some galleries to look at the art. Occasionally they have some nice stuff there. But usually far too expensive for the unknown names (at least for me) that are linked to it.
Around half past two I walk back to the pier to go with the ‘cruise’ of two o’clock. Unfortunately, peanut butter (I love this translation, of Google, I leave you guessing what it means), this has been cancelled. Well, then I have to go to the pub at Beerwolf Books, a combination of a bookstore and a pub. Here they have all sorts of beer on tap that I have not had yet. That will be an afternoon of reading and tasting.

And that’s how it happened…

Weather

Cloudy with occasionally a little drizzle of rain.

Lyric of the day

A day of rest feels like a Sunday to me and since I’ve been lazy today, reading a little bit and having a beer, the choice today is Lazy Sunday by the Small Faces:

Wouldn’t it be nice, to get on with me neighbours
But they make it very clear, they’ve got no room for ravers
They stop me from groovin’, they bang on me wall
They’re doing me crust in, it’s no good at all, ah!

Lazy Sunday afternoon
I’ve got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away

‘Ere we all are, sitting in a rainbow
Gor blimey hello Mrs Jones, how’s your Bert’s lumbago? (mustn’t grumble)
I’ll sing you a song with no words and no tune
To sing in your khazi while you suss out the moon, oh yeah!

Lazy Sunday afternoon
I’ve got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away

Roo dee doo dee doo, roo dee doo dee die day
Roo dee doo dee dum, roo dee doo dee doo dee

There’s no one to hear me, there’s nothing to say
And no one can stop me, from feeling this way, yeah

Lazy Sunday afternoon
I’ve got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away

Lazy Sunday afternoon
I’ve got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift a-
Close my mind and drift away
Close my eyes and drift away
